Collagen noni cream
As a ‘New Normal’ will set in post pandemic, there will be a major paradigm shift in many aspects. The way of living life is going to have a new and a very radically different meaning. There is a deep realization and awareness for simplifying life. We have started questioning ourselves if we really need ‘so much’ in our lives. Multiple homes, CO2 spewing cars, clothes spilling out of closets, unwanted excessive travels and all the materialistic stuff in excess. Let’s cut down the need and greed and the race to achieve everything.
Of all the concepts, the concept of MINIMALISM makes sense the most! Let’s become more with less – more immunity less disease, more health less stress, more empathy less pain, more happiness less needs, more space less stuff. Becoming minimalist also means that we become more mindful consumers in every way.
Mindfulness and minimalism also have to come to the vanity boxes of women!! Observation and practices reveal that on a daily basis when women get ready to go out they use at least 5 different products on their faces to start with!! That maybe a toner, moisturizer, sun block cream, foundation cream, primer, et al….
Just for starters we have those many tubes and containers and the uncountable other stuff for what – a facial area of 50 cm2 ?! More number of containers mean more waste and more use of toxic plastic. We need to address this issue on an urgent basis and look for that ONE product which will serve all the purposes. Japanese people are known to implement the idea of ‘Minimalism’ the most in their lives, so it was not a surprise to find that ‘All-in-one’ minimalistic product in this country. Check out the Japanese brand Nizen’s 5-in-one Collagen Noni Cream! It is a toner, emulsifier, serum, moisturizing gel and foundation – all that in one cream! This is the most real and truest minimalist product of all times. One small container (means that much less use of plastic) packed with so many virtues. Nizen also has other very mindful health products that need to be checked out.
Vitamin C
Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) is an anti-oxidant and acts as a catalyst in collagen synthesis. A diet lacking in Vitamin C leads to the development of a disease known as scurvy (although this is not a problem today as most people have enough Vitamin C from daily foods).
Most mammals generate Vitamin C in the liver. Human beings cannot synthesize this vitamin because they lack the enzyme l-gulonolactone oxidase. We must thus obtain the vitamin by consuming Vitamin C rich foods such as plums, oranges, cherries, guava, kale, kiwis, lemons, broccoli, lychees, strawberries etc. or Vitamin C based food supplements. Amla (Gooseberry) is reported to contain nearly 20 times more vitamin C than oranges. Amla is an important ingredient of the traditional Indian Ayurvedic health supplement called Chyawanprash. Animal-sourced foods do not provide much Vitamin C and this too is largely destroyed by the heat of cooking. Through history, British sailors used Vitamin C rich foods such as lemon juice, oranges, salted cabbages on voyages of exploration to prevent diseases.
Vitamin C contributes to immune defense by supporting various cellular functions and fighting viral infections. Furthermore, supplementation with Vitamin C appears to be able to both prevent and treat respiratory and systemic infections. Although Vitamin C supplements have no effect on the risk of catching a cold, they appear to reduce its severity and duration. Some indications of lack of Vitamin C are rough, bumpy, dry skin, slowly healing wounds, painful, swollen joints.
Many people worldwide drink hot lemon water in the morning. The juice of one lemon provides about 18.6 milligrams of Vitamin C (the recommended daily amount of Vitamin C for adults is 65 to 90 milligrams).
Taking Vitamin C in liquid form is important in the summer when we get more dehydrated than usual. Japan has a long tradition of consuming Vitamin C drinks which are widely available in vending machines, convenience stores etc. There is a good range of Vitamin C products such as collagen pre-mix, probiotic collagen drink, Vitamin C+D drink available in Nizen – Japan brand too.
Health Benefits of Ginseng
Little did I know when I gulped down a shot bottle of Nizen’s Probiotic Collagen drink that I am actually taking in the ‘wonder of the world’ – Ginseng?! This drink along with millions of live bacteria and Nattokinase also has Ginseng root extract. I have been reading and hearing about Ginseng and it’s miraculous powers, but never thought about it much. Now is a good time to delve deep and dig out as much of information as possible and present it here.
Ginseng has always sounded very ancient and is in fact an old ingredient used for herbal purposes for over 5,000 years! It holds a remarkable esteem in the Orient. Asian Ginseng has been highly revered as an almost miraculous remedy for ailments such as depression, inflammation, diabetes, nausea, fatigue and ageing.
Nizen being a Japanese brand, unearthing more history about Ginseng’s journey into Japan sounded more apt. Ginseng was a prominent, high in demand ‘tribute good’ which was circulated around during Edo period in Japan. Until mid 18th century, Ginseng was available to Japan exclusively from Korea. At times Ginseng constituted as much as 27% of the volume of Korean goods entering Japan. The demand for the root was so high that there were fights that erupted amongst people queuing up to buy some of the limited supply of Ginseng. Also speculative buying and black marketeering were rampant. Silver ingots which were used for the purchase of Ginseng, led to the idea of encouraging domestic production of Ginseng. Seeking to stem the tide of silver flowing out of the country, it soon came to be produced in many regions throughout the archipelago, the area around Nikko being just one prominent site of production.
A species deserving of its magical reputation was thus brought into Japan. But growing Ginseng is not at all an easy task. Cultivation itself requires considerable care, beginning with the sowing of the seeds on dry clay soil. It is after one year that the strongest roots are then planted out in plantations where Ginseng has not been grown for a period of 10 to 15 years to ensure that the roots do not rot.
From now on whenever I drink up Nizen’s Probiotic Collagen drink I know I have the added power and energy of the miraculous wonder ingredient Ginseng.
